Coastwest - helping communities to care for the WA Coast
Regional coastal management groups provide an important role as a peak body, addressing and prioritising coastal planning and management issues at a regional level in Western Australia. At present there are two regional coastal management groups in Western Australia: the South Coastal Management Group, which includes Shires from Dundas to Denmark, and CoastSWAP that includes Shires from Manjimup to Mandurah. These groups consist of community, local and State government representatives.
The Coastwest Regional Coastal Management Group Support Fund provides financial support to regional coastal management groups to support administrative and capacity building costs. In addition to supporting existing groups the funds will help to establish other regional groups in areas experiencing coastal management pressures.
Eligibility
- Regional Coastal Management Groups.
Funding
Grants of up to $8 000 are available to groups each year and are designed to:

The Proponent will need to provide $1 in financial or in-kind support for each $1 of the Coastwest funds granted. Matching funding contributions may be in the form of volunteer attendance at meetings.
