The strategy sets out the State Government's broad planning policies and strategies for the Augusta-Walpole coast and provides a framework for coastal planning and management and sustainable use of the coast. It recommends a number of actions with the aim of achieving the objectives and addressing the many issues requiring resolution through strategic land use planning.

The draft Augusta-Walpole Coastal Strategy was released for a two month public consultation period ending on 31 October 2007.
