This plan looks into the future and develops further initiatives to enhance and expand the Araluen experience and contains recommendations for a number of significant and exciting developments for the park.

At the time of the preparation of this plan, the government has agreed to proceed with the formal transfer of the park to the control of the Botanic Gardens and Park Authority. Preliminary indicators are that the transfer will be implemented during 2006. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, under the terms of its Act, will be required to prepare its own management plan for Araluen park following the transfer. This plan is therefore prepared as an interim management plan to carry the park forward for a two-year period.
