Landgate and RSCS – Streamlining access to land information

Landgate is Western Australia’s gateway to land and property information.  A cross-government initiative, Landgate is a web-based system which delivers improved services. Visit www.landgate.wa.gov.au to access information through secure and guaranteed channels.

What does RSCS mean for you?

RSCS  allows you to request a Clause 42 (MRS), Clause 47 (PRS) or Clause 53 (GBRS) certificate in conjunction with your Electronic Advice of Sale (EAS) enquiry or as a stand-alone enquiry through the Conveyancing Channel on Landgate.

What are the benefits of the new system to you?

Time efficiencies

All you need to do to request a Clause 42, 47 or 53 is tick the box shown at the end of your EAS enquiry.  Compare this to a hard copy application which you are required to complete manually, photocopy, attach copies of the search and sketch plans, issue a trading account cheque, notate your file with the disbursement and then post to DPI.

You could obtain the result of your RSCS enquiry, within two days following DPI receipt of your request, as well as rate responses from the Water Corporation and Office of State Revenue via the EAS re-enquiry system.   Compare this to a hard copy application which requires you to receive and open the mail, file separately and potentially make follow-up calls to check progress.

Cost efficiencies

RSCS enquiry costs are currently $25.00, together with Landgate’s $5.50 access fee.  These are integrated into your monthly EBIS account. There is no need to issue a separate cheque for RSCS enquiries, saving you the cost of stationery, banking and accounting fees.

There is a substantial reduction in the staff time required to complete an online RSCS enquiry, resulting in financial benefits to your organisation.

Currently not using Landgate?

The RSCS system is designed to be used in conjunction with EAS used extensively in the conveyancing industry, or as a stand-alone product through Landgate.

The Landgate access fee for each enquiry is currently $5.50.  Landgate’s RSCS service does not attract any initial or annual fees. If you wish to register for Landgate’s RSCS service only, please visit www.landgate.wa.gov.au or contact the online support team on (08) 9273 7341

Once you have registered to use RSCS, you can use the service as frequently or infrequently as you require. RSCS is a pay per enquiry service with no financial penalties for infrequent use of the system.

What's coming?

Greater Bunbury Region Scheme (GBRS) is coming to RSCS, subject to a build by Landgate. You will then be able to request a Clause 53 (GBRS) certificate. Cost will be the same as existing certificates.
