Draft East Wanneroo Land Use and Water Management Strategy
Home > WAPC statements

8 August 2006

Text may be used as quotes attributed to Mr Jeremy Dawkins, Chairman, Western Australian Planning Commission.

The WAPC would like to clarify the status of the East Wanneroo Land Use and Water Management Strategy as a draft document.

The draft strategy does not supersede the statutory framework that currently applies in the area and should only be used as a preliminary document.

A considerable amount of work is required before the land use and water management strategy will be finalised and until this time the WAPC will continue to consider applications based on current planning policy.

Once finalised it is envisaged implementation of the strategy will address those issues in East Wanneroo relating to water resource planning including allocation, licensing and strategic land use planning.
