15 June 2007
The WAPC will introduce a revised fee structure and higher fees for subdivision applications from 1 July 2007.
The new fees complete the progression towards full cost recovery where those using the service meet the cost of providing the service. In the past, only a portion of the cost of providing planning services was recovered by fees with the balance being subsidised by the State Government.
The new fees take into account the effort applied to the assessment of subdivision applications to meet the community’s expectations for well designed and connected neighbourhoods that are environmentally responsible.

The Western Australian Government has committed to fast-tracking subdivision approvals, aiming to make more land and housing developments available to homebuyers. The move to a full cost recovery enables WAPC to reallocate funding to key strategic planning projects to ensure that sufficient land is zoned and made ready to meet the demand for new residential, commercial and industrial land.

Duplicate certificates of title do not contain all information on existing encumbrances such as caveats, notifications and some memorials. A copy of the record of certificate of tile for each subject lot will need to be provided for all form 1A application. Applications will not be accepted and will be returned to the applicant if this requirement is not met.
